Ferrie
Allan
Ferrie has been shoeing horses for a period of 24 years. He qualified
RSS at 19 years, AFCL at 22 years and achieved his F.W.C.F. 3 years
later. He is a member of the examination board and a livery man
of London.
Allan
has been married to Janice for 20 years and has 2 daughters, Jill
and Karen. He spends most weekends travelling many miles with his
daughters who are keen show jumpers. But whenever possible he fits
in his other hobby - fishing.
He
is in partnership with his brother Jim. Together they operate a
Farrier and Farrier Supply business with 12 employees. The horse
shoeing has a variety of horses from games ponies, top eventors,
show jumpers, hunters and dressage horses. Specialising in corrective,
remedial shoeing and lameness with local vets and Glasgow Veterinary
College.
He
is a keen competitor in horse shoeing competitions both nationally
and internationally and has represented Scotland in their farrier
team for 16 years. He has won both team and individual at Stoneleigh
several times.
